Autism Speaks U – Fordham
University Chapter is a new club on campus (so new it’s not even official yet).
This club is meant to bring awareness about autism to Fordham while raising
money for the parent organization Autism Speaks. Autism Speaks U is a national
organization and Fordham’s chapter will be the first one in New York City!
Autism Speaks U is hosting many great events this year at
Fordham. The first being a walk/run in October to kick off the fall semester!
The next big event will be in the Spring Semester in April during Autism
Awareness Month. We will hold a “Light It Up Blue” Event in support of this month
in the color that represents Autism. However, these are not the only things
that Autism Speaks U does. We are trying to do some volunteer events with a
local charter school which is dedicated to children with autism, as well as
hosting many events on campus that help college students understand more about
the autism spectrum and who is affected.
As part of the Executive Board of Autism Speaks U – Fordham
University Chapter, I hope that this club helps others understand and reach out
to those affected by autism. I also hope that students find this both a fun and
great way to help people out through the many fun events that we will be
hosting this year.
“Like” us on Facebook to keep up with any events going on at
Fordham.
