All the academic differences between high school and college can be a little overwhelming. Instead of classes for 8 hours a day, you only have a couple classes each day. Instead of regular tests, in some classes you only have a midterm and final. Luckily though, the Gabelli School of Business has an awesome academic advising program that helps with all these tensions so you have the easiest transition possible!
The academic advising program is made up of two components: your adviser and your student adviser. Your main adviser is the Dean and your student adviser is an upperclassman studying what you are interested in. Both are there for you anytime you have questions regarding registration or study habits, need academic advice, or if you need help in a particular class. As a freshman, you’ll meet with both the Dean and your student advisers at least once a month.
