As many perspective students may already know, Fordham University's Rose Hill campus contains one centrally located cafeteria called "The Marketplace," and as President of Fordham's Student Culinary Council, a group that works directly with Sodexo (Fordham's catering company), I am excited to announce the events that will be taking place there next month!
First off, in an effort to support Breast Cancer Awareness month, Sodexo is running numerous "Pink" events to raise money for this important cause! On October 5th, Chef Mike DeMartino will be hosting an "Old Fashion Desserts" table at lunch, featuring "Everything PINK!" In addition, pink cotton candy will be passed out during lunch in The Marketplace on October 13th, and Pink S'mores will be served on the 20th. Yum!
In addition, October marks the month that The Marketplace will be visited by a Sodexo Global Chef from Columbia, who will spend three days cooking in our cafeteria, and serve a Columbian style breakfast, lunch and dinner.
As always, Sodexo will begin gearing up for Halloween at the end of the month, sponsoring a Pumpkin Carving station during dinner on the 25th, and a "Decorate a Haunted House" dessert station during dinner on the 27th. Think gingerbread houses — only scary!
