Arthur Avenue - Little Italy in the Bronx!

One of the main things that drew me to Fordham when I was looking at colleges was its close proximity to Arthur Avenue, which is only about a five-minute walk from the Rose Hill campus. The endless food markets, bakeries, and restaurants are a great break from campus food any day of the week. When my friends and I have time (and a few extra bucks to spend), we love to go on Arthur Ave for delicious food such as a dish of pasta, a slice of pizza, or a cannoli.
Here are just a few of my favorite restaurants and bakeries on Arthur Ave! A list of nearly all of them are found by following this link: http://www.arthuravenuebronx.com/merchantlist.html

- Enzo's: My family, friends, and I absolutely love this restaurant! They serve possibly the best chicken/veal parmigiana I have ever had, and this is saying a lot because as a full Italian, I have had these dishes from multiple places!

- Giovanni's: This restaurant holds a special place in my heart because it is the first Arthur Ave restaurant that I ever went to. It serves as both a full-service restaurant and a pizzeria, and the pizza is exceptional.

- Tino's Deli is a clear favorite of Fordham students. With its amazing subs, delicious paninis, and excellent small plates of pasta and eggplant parm, Tino's has become the go-to place for Fordham clubs to cater food from.

-Palumbo's Bakery: Not only does Palumbo's offer a 20% discount for Fordham students but it is also home to a wide variety of cannoli, biscotti, and cakes. You can either bring dessert home after eating at one of the many restaurants on Arthur Ave, or sit down and enjoy a piece of cake and a cup of espresso with some friends--the choices are endless.

I have had a great time exploring all of the restaurants on Arthur Ave during my time at Fordham, and I hope you do too. Bon Appetit!

  1. Its obvious you've never been to Ann & Tony's. Look them up and go there. You'll forget Enzo's.

  2. Funny, Little Italy is getting overtaken by China Town.
