Weekend Update

Anna Romagnoli
This past weekend was the end of our spring break at Fordham. I spent this last week in West Palm Beach, FL with my two roommates. It was great to relax, enjoy the warm weather and spend time at the beach. Now that we are back, we are excited to enjoy spring and the rest of our last semester at Fordham!

Over Spring Break, I went on a Gabelli School of Business Study Tour to Santiago, Chile! In addition to exploring the city, we attended lectures at a Chilean Jesuit University and visited several companies. Since the Chilean economy is largely connected to its copper export, one of our visits was to Codelco's El Teniente Copper Mine, which is the largest copper mine in the world. It was quite the experience to go into a copper mine and see how the whole mining process works from start to finish. After the cold winter at Fordham, it felt so great to spend a week in the sun and the heat!

While I was sad to see Spring Break end I was happy to get back to Fordham to see my friends. Before my parents headed back home after dropping me off at school we stopped at Palumbo Bakery on Arthur Avenue for delicious pastries!
We love all the colorful treats

Weekend Update

Heather Richards
This past weekend I took a bus to Washington DC to visit my family. They flew in from Chicago to see the Andrew Wyeth art exhibit at The National Gallery of Art. We spent the weekend exploring a couple of museums, eating food, and hanging out together at the house. I really enjoyed the opportunity to see my family, sleep in, read, and explore DC!

This weekend I focused most of my time on finishing school work before Thanksgiving break. It was very relaxing to stay on campus with the beautiful fall scenery and take my time with my work after a busy week. I was able to finish my work and catch up on my sleep, which was much needed, so it was quite an enjoyable weekend!

This weekend, I met up with some friends from high school. We all go to different colleges in NYC, so we like to meet up every so often. This weekend, we went to Ellen's Stardust Diner. At Ellen's, the waiters and waitresses are aspiring actors and actresses trying to get onto Broadway, so they sing while you eat. It was a ton of fun, and the food was great!

Weekend Update: 'Tis the Season!

Happy December! The weather is getting colder and final exams are approaching, but that can't stop the cheerfulness in the air. It is the holiday season, and last week Fordham students headed home - or stayed in the area - to celebrate Thanksgiving. This is a great time to catch up with your high school friends, do holiday activities with your family, and of course, eat lots of pumpkin pie. Let's check in with a few our contributors for this Monday's Weekend Update. We'll be hearing from Madeline, Jessica, and Emma - thanks guys!

Madeline

Like most Fordham students, I enjoyed a long Thanksgiving weekend home with my family. I took the train home to Connecticut and then spent Thanksgiving day in Long Island visiting family. On Black Friday, I made it back to NYC to celebrate Christmas with the Radio City Rockettes! The show really got me in the holiday spirit but now I have to buckle down for the last week of classes and finals before Christmas break.

Jessica
I spent this past week at home (the first time since August) celebrating the holiday near Cleveland, OH. My weekend focused on football. On Friday, I spent time with some friends from high school, and we watched our alma mater (Kirtland High School) win a playoff game and advance to the state championship round. On Saturday, as I watched Ohio State beat its biggest rival Michigan on TV, I continually checked the score of the Fordham game.

Emma
I went home for Thanksgiving break and enjoyed some holiday preparations with my family! As you can see in the picture, I went to pick out my Christmas tree with my family. We went to a tree farm in Princeton, New Jersey!

Well, there you have it! There's a lot going on at Fordham and at home. Have a good week, everyone!
