Campus Ministry!

One of my favorite groups to participate in at Fordham has been Campus Ministry. Filled with a warm and welcoming group of students, Jesuits, and ministers, Campus Ministry has numerous events and student-run groups that are great for students of all types of religions and faiths.
Last year was my first year being a member of a Christian Life Community (CLC). CLCs consist of 10-15 student-led groups of about 7-8 members each that join together each week and discuss three main pillars of mission, faith, and service. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to become closer to God and to learn more about others' faith. Being a part of a CLC has helped me to strengthen my faith in God, which is why I am thrilled to be a leader of a group this year. There are also multiple events throughout the year to unite the different CLCs together including picnics, retreats, and masses.
Also this year, I decided to become a part of other Campus Ministry activities. I recently completed training to become a lector at Sunday masses. Besides being a lector, students can also volunteer at mass by being Eucharistic ministers, altar servers, and ushers. In addition, I registered to go on Emmaus, which is just one of the many retreats Campus Ministry has to offer. Other retreats include Fresh Vision (specifically for freshmen), an Advent retreat, a men's and women's retreat, and several others. Most of these retreats last for the whole weekend in Fordham's beautiful retreat house in Goshen, NY, but some of them are held right on Fordham's own campus.
