I’m the assistant fashion editor for FLASH Magazine, Fordham University’s fashion beauty and culture publication. I thought it would be a great opportunity to shed some light on how it’s possible to combine your academic passions and further develop the Fordham Community. As a Communications Major, learning towards a concentration in journalism, and a Fashion Studies Minor, being a member of FLASH has allowed me to utilize the public platform of our online publication to depict the omnipotence of fashion around Fordham and throughout New York City. Last year alone was filled with photo shoots, an article feature and newfound friends as I discovered fellow Rams who were as obsessed with fashion and beauty as I was. The fashion section of our latest issue features a wide range of topics from the controversy of cultural appropriation to the athleisure trend and our editorial spread. However, FLASH is multifaceted and includes scrumptious recipes from our culture connoisseurs and the latest beauty trends.
Each issue would not be possible without the tireless efforts of every aspect of the FLASH team. Our social media gurus, models, writers, and, of course, the dedicated and fabulous members of our E-board bring ideas to life on the pages of every issue. We are often told to follow our passions here at Fordham and in my case it led me to FLASH Magazine. For current Fordham Rams, our information sessions are tomorrow at Lincoln Center and Thursday for Rose Hill! For further details please refer to our facebook page. As for prospective Fordham FLASHionistas, we look forward to having you join the fun in the future!
