New York City, although cliché, is the place to be, as the December holidays are just around the corner. I have my fair shares of spending days walking up and down the major streets (such as 5th, Madison, and Park Avenues) for that touristic photoshoot. But the December holidays are not all about the decorations and lights big corporations set up for a Facebook photo opportunity.
As obvious it may be, the arts, culture, and entertainment communities in New York City are enormous. Major museums such as the Museum of Modern Arts, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Guggenheim have been a big spots for anyone who appreciates art. However, museums are not the only cultural spot in New York; Broadway shows always have been on a top of the to do list in NYC. Big names, such as the Lion King, Wicked, Jersey Boys, and the Book of Mormon are currently in town. If musicals and plays are not your thing, you may try to visit the Lincoln Center as you can catch operas, philharmonics, and ballet performances.
If the city does not interest you, but want to explore the arts and cultural communities, the Brooklyn Academy of Music has various options for you. The BAM, unlike the city, hosts plays, opera, performance arts, and exhibitions and is celebrating their 150th year!
