The City Really IS Your Playground

If there is one thing that Fordham boasts proudly over and over again it's our motto "New York is my campus, Fordham is my school". You'll hear this at every open house, see it printed on every brochure, and, before you know it, you'll be living it. New York City has so much to offer, and as a Fordham student you'll be able to utilize the city in so many ways, certainly at least for the professional opportunities that the five boroughs provide. And yes, though the city will give you the greatest platform to get a job you love upon graduation, it's how you spend the four years before then that really matter.

What REALLY makes Fordham worth coming to and this city worth living in is all of the culture that will surround you every day. The Bronx is a mecca of diversity that has, in my 1.2 years here, opened my eyes to new people, new traditions, and a whole new way of life. For the same reasons, I spend as much time as possible in Manhattan, doing and seeing and living as much as I possibly can.

Any given day in Manhattan can turn into adventures that you never could have foreseen, from eating Dim Sum at a restaurant where literally everyone is speaking Chinese only, to window-shopping down the cobble-stoned streets of SoHo, to catching a last-minute show at a dance hall in Midtown-- all of which I've done... this Wednesday.

New York is like no other place in the entire world and you can't help but wrap yourself in the magic of Manhattan. As a Fordham Ram you'll be able to live this dream every day, to really have the city as your playground.
