Spring Break in New York City

As a new New Yorker, there are times I do want to get away from the busy life of the city and travel. Spring Break is one of the breaks that create a perfect moment for getaway with friends and family. However, I decided to stay in the city this Spring Break. Although the city occupies due to it’s rushing moments, there are perfect getaways in New York that challenges the busy lifestyle.

Central Park is one of the perfect spot for taking a breath to refresh your body in the metropolitan city. The 843 acres of land is not only historic, but has an easy access for everyone to take a break – even during the workdays. One of my favorite spots of the Central Park is the Bethesda Fountain by the Mall (accessible through the 72nd St. entrance). As Spring, families take a stroll along the Bethesda Fountain to enjoy what New York has to offer.

Another restful spot is the Coney Island. Located in the far corner of Brooklyn borough, Coney Island is known for its entertainment along with peaceful beach/ocean scenery. As it is mid-March, the population visiting the Coney Island is limited – which makes it more enjoyable as you do not have to push people in order to get from point A to point B.

I consider Spring Break as a break to gather myself before the final push towards the end of the year. Rather than going somewhere, perhaps it is the time to truly enjoy the city’s peaceful offerings!
