Each week, Fordham produces its paper "The Ram." It offers news pieces pertaining to current events spanning across media, sports, the arts, opinions, and political debates. "The Ram" offers a very well-rounded perspective on each matter, as it discusses the topic from a variety of viewpoints. Indeed, each writer is expected to not only cover their facts but also to convey them objectively, while still taking a clear stance on how they feel about the matter.
Every night, students crowd together in the basement of McGinley as they write, review and edit one another's pieces so as to ensure that the most important news is shared in the best manner possible. I work as a copy-editor on Tuesday nights. This means that I read through a variety of articles, checking for spelling or grammatical errors. The atmosphere is bright and conversational, as this close team discusses their pieces as well as their lives. You get a great feeling of comradery being down there and it is a wonderful way to spend your time.
Copies of "The Ram" can be found all over campus at newspaper stands, available to students for free. However, if you do not have access to them, you can check out their articles here! It's a great read and I highly suggest taking a look!
