PwC Guac-Off

Have you ever heard about a Guacamole competition, a so called Guac Off? It is a great opportunity to enjoy some delicious Guacamole while hanging out with your Friends. But how is that relevant to Fordham? Well, the Gabelli School of Business wants its students to have fun while also working on their careers. Therefore, the Accounting Honors Society Beta Alpha Psi organized the first Guac Off ever at Fordham which was sponsored by the Accounting Firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.
On a Thursday night we met at the business school and found a vast supply of Guacamole ingredients. Each of us was assigned to a team with a few fellow students and a PwC employee. We then had to start develop a recipe for a creative Guacamole, fight with the other teams for the ingredients, and then create our Guacamole. While we were making our Guacamole, we could talk to the PwC employee and ask questions about working at PwC, opportunities for students, and general advice on the internship search process. Afterwards 2 PwC Recruiters tested all of the different Guacamole creations and determined a winner.
Although my team did not win the Guac off (although our Guacamole tasted amazing) I still had a blast. I got to spend time with my friends and snack on some delicious treats,  while also networking with potential employers and getting useful advice and contacts for applications and internships.
